Sat benches fill first — walk-ins welcome before noon
Fitting work on one side of the room, service work on the other, and the same loft and lie machine feeding both. Below is the honest list of what we do — and a short list of what we deliberately do not.
Each of these is a booked bay session with a launch unit running and a written card at the end. Sessions can be combined; a set and a driver in one visit is our most common booking.
Ninety minutes. We read your existing set first, then work through head shapes, shaft weights, lengths and lie angles until the numbers stop improving. Most customers discover their current set is not built the way they assumed it was.
You leave with: a per-club card for the whole set, a build order if you want one, and a written correction list if the set you own is worth keeping.
Iron bench detailSixty minutes on the one club that most often gets bought on a whim. Strike location is mapped with face tape before anything is swapped, because a heel-biased pattern changes which head and length actually help.
You leave with: head and loft setting, shaft model with trim and playing length, grip spec, and a dispersion comparison against the driver you walked in with.
Driver bench detailForty-five minutes worked mostly off the mat rather than a tee. A three wood needs to be a club you can hit from the turf on a par five, and that is a length and sole-design conversation more than a loft one.
You leave with: loft and head recommendation, playing length, and honest advice on whether the slot is better filled by a hybrid.
Fairway bench detailForty-five minutes spent on the messiest part of most bags. We measure the carry gap between your longest reliable iron and your shortest wood, then fill it with as few clubs as the gap actually needs.
You leave with: hybrid loft, length and lie set to sit correctly between its neighbours, plus a note on which iron it retires.
Hybrid bench detailSixty minutes including work off our turf tray. Bermuda in July and dormant grass in January ask different things of a sole, and grind selection here is a local decision, not a catalogue one.
You leave with: loft ladder for the scoring clubs, bounce and grind per wedge, shaft and swingweight notes, and a groove-condition reading on what you already own.
Wedge bench detailForty-five minutes on the roll mat. Length and lie come first because almost nobody is standing the way the putter was built for, and that alone moves start line more than any insert change.
You leave with: length, lie, loft, head style, hosel and grip spec, plus a before-and-after start-line comparison.
Putter bench detailFitting gets the attention. Service is what keeps a well-fitted bag playing like one. This side of the room runs six days a week and most jobs are finished the same day you drop the bag off.
You do not need a fitting appointment for any of it. Walk in with the bag, tell us what you want looked at, and we will tell you what it needs before we tell you what it costs.
Most service jobs booked before eleven in the morning are ready by close the same day. Full-set regrips during the busy spring stretch can take until the following afternoon.
Timings assume parts in stock. Special-order shafts and grips add whatever the supplier adds, and we will tell you that number before you commit.
A short list, offered so nobody drives across town for something we would only turn away.
We are not instructors. If the numbers point at technique rather than equipment, we will say so and suggest you spend the money on a teaching professional instead of a new shaft.
No paint fill, no chrome refinishing, no head polishing. It is specialist work and we would only do it badly. We can point you to someone who does it properly.
Some cast heads will crack before they reach the angle you want. We will bend to a safe limit, show you where that limit is, and stop there rather than gamble with your set.
